Where Dreams Take Root
High school
Schutz provides a nurturing environment where students can explore their interests, develop their talents, and achieve their aspirations.
The High School philosophy at Schutz American School is based on the school’s Learner Profile and the school’s mission to provide a premier education empowering all of our students to pursue their passions as confident global citizens.
Our High School serves students in grades 9-12, with class sizes ranging between 18 and 20 students. At Schutz, students play an active role in their learning journey, helping to establish essential agreements that guide both academic and behavioral expectations. We promote student agency, defined as the power to take meaningful and intentional action, while acknowledging the rights and responsibilities of individuals. This approach supports voice, choice, and ownership in the learning process.

The High School curriculum is rigorous and relevant, grounded in the liberal arts and sciences. Students engage in a comprehensive range of subjects, including Language Arts, History and Social Studies, Mathematics, Physical and Life Sciences, Computer Science, World Languages, Fine and Performing Arts, and Physical Education. In addition, Schutz offers a robust Advanced Placement (AP) program for students who are willing and able to undertake college-level studies. The AP program provides an opportunity for students to earn college credit or advanced placement, based on their performance in AP courses and exams.
Our curriculum is further enriched by a wide variety of extracurricular activities, clubs, organizations, and sports, ensuring that students have numerous opportunities to pursue their interests and develop well-rounded skills.
